Children’s Sacramental Program
A Sacramental Program is run every year starting with an information night early in the school year.
If your child is a baptised Catholic and starting Year 3, they are eligible for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Reconciliation and First Communion will follow the following year (Year 4).
Children not attending St John’s Primary will be led through a preparation program that runs once a week for 4 weeks before the Sacrament.
If your child is older than Year 3 and has not received any of the sacraments and is Baptised Catholic, eligibility for all three Sacraments will be on a case by case basis.
Please contact the parish office in early February if you would like your child to take part or for further information.

Parent Information night: 10 February Tuesday 6pm, St John’s Church
Reconciliation: 19 March Thursday 4.30pm, Our Lady of Lourdes
Confirmation: 1 July Wednesday 5pm, St John’s Church
First Holy Communion: 6 September Sunday 8am, St John’s Church
If any parishioners in the St John’s Parish would like to have their children receive the sacraments of the church, namely Reconciliation, Confirmation and Holy Communion in 2026, please attend the Parent Information night (10 Feb) and also contact the Parish Office on 6684 2106 or 0409 785 104 by 8 February.
Marriage
Please contact our parish office if you would like to marry in one of our churches or would like our priest to marry you at another location.
Penance – Rite of Reconciliation
Thursday 5:00pm – 5:20pm prior to Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Brunswick Heads.
