Parish Bulletin

St Brigid’s Primary School in Our Lady of Sorrows Parish are hosting an upcoming Eucharistic exhibition that we believe will be of great interest to your parish community.

Monday 20 – Sunday 26 October
St Brigid’s Parish Hall
Wiangaree Street Entrance
Kyogle

The Eucharistic Miracles of the World Exhibition, created by St. Carlo Acutis, features over 130 scientifically documented Eucharistic miracles from across the globe — some dating back to the 8th century.

This inspiring international display invites visitors to explore the connection between faith, science, and the mystery of the Eucharist, through the legacy of a modern teenager whose devotion continues to inspire millions. The exhibition will also include the opportunity to venerate a relic of St. Carlo Acutis.

An A4 poster is displayed on the table in the church, with further details.

Bishop Gregory Homeming – Prayers Philippines

The Bishop has asked us to please pray for the victims of the earthquakes in CEBU, Philippines and most importantly for Sr Dedith Moralde’s family which lives there. Due to power outages and the devastation caused by the earthquake, she has been unable to reach her relatives in Daanbantayan, CEBU.

Let us help by praying for their safety.

Dear Fellow Lismore Christians,

For the past three years, Lismore Anglicans have held a Christmas event call ‘Bethlehem Revisited’ in the grounds of St Andrew’s Church, Zadoc Street Lismore.

In 2025, Bethlehem Revisited will be on Saturday 13th December 5.30pm until 8.30pm at St Andrews.

The event has proved to be popular with the general public. It has been an excellent way to reach out and connect with the community during the Christmas season to direct people’s thinking toward the birth of Jesus.

We would love to encourage all the Christian churches in Lismore and surrounds to become part of this opportunity to bring understanding and joy from this gift that God has given – to celebrate the birth of our Saviour.

What we aim to do… Bethlehem Re Visited 2025

To create a community event that demonstrates Christian Unity in Lismore as Christians come together to celebrate Christmas with a Jesus focus.

To recreate the streets and characters of Bethlehem in a way that leads visitors to an understanding of the people, place and time where Jesus, the Son of God was born.

To provide an immersive experience for children and their families that is entertaining, hands on, interactive and surprising.

To promote Jesus who was and continues to be a free Gift from God, an advocate of Love and Peace and Saviour to all who believe.

Important Parish Message:

Parish Mass Change.

Dear Parishioners, my sincere thanks for your patience with regard to our Parish Liturgies these last months since Fr Michael finished up his most generous and committed ministry in St John’s Parish. We continue to pray for his health and convalescence.

I also wish to sincerely thank Deacon Anthony Gooley for his valued and timely ministry in the Parish. His last Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion will be at O.L.O.L. Brunswick Heads this Saturday 25th January.

From that time on, for the foreseeable future, the liturgy for Sunday Mass will be celebrated:

  • 5:30pm each Thursday at O.L.O.L. Brunswick Heads.
  • 8am each Sunday at St John’s Mullumbimby.

A precedent to celebrate Sunday Masses, other than the usual time, has already been set in several other parishes in the Lismore Diocese.

Please keep an eye on this Bulletin, as I also arrange other Pastoral Ministries including Reconciliation and Mass of Anointing.

Thank you for your continued support. Fr David Gilbey, Pastor.
