A message from St John’s School
School News: Walking Together in Faith and Action
As we prepare to open our gates for the 2026 school year, our staff spent this past week gathering in professional learning, prayer, and preparation. Our theme for the year, “HIKING TOGETHER in Faith, Courage and Action,” set the tone for a week of collaboration and spiritual growth.
A Productive Week of Preparation
Our dedicated teachers and staff officially returned on Tuesday, January 27th. We kicked off the week with a community coffee at The Paddock before diving into the 2026 School Annual Improvement Plan. Throughout the week, staff participated in several key workshops:
- Faith & Mission: Ellie led us in daily Christian Meditation and prayer. We also finalised our 2026 Formation Plan and developed our Class Retreats Scope and Sequence to ensure our Catholic identity remains at the heart of everything we do.
- Wellbeing: Dave facilitated “The Resilience Project” workshops, focusing on resources and planning to support our students’ mental health and emotional literacy from Day 1.
- Teaching & Learning: On Thursday, Naomi and Kimberley led intensive sessions on “How Students Learn,” exploring evidence-based practices to ensure every child in our classrooms can thrive.
Making a Splash!
The week concluded with a burst of energy and school spirit at our Annual School Swimming Carnival on Friday. It was wonderful to see our students back in the water, cheering for their houses and demonstrating great sportsmanship. Thank you to all the staff and parents who helped make the day a success.
Welcome Back: Monday, February 2nd
We are officially ready! We extend a very warm welcome back to all our returning students and a special “welcome home” to our new families joining our community.
School officially commences Monday, February 2nd. We look forward to a year of “hiking together” as we grow in faith and knowledge. May God bless our school community as we begin this new journey.
God bless.
